Sheila Knaggs was born in Liverpool and grew up on the Isle of Man before moving to Australia as a teenager. Her love of storytelling began with poetry and grew through years of working with children and supporting those with additional needs. Now living on the Mornington Peninsula, Sheila draws inspiration from her family, her work in education and disability support, and her passion for creating stories that touch hearts and spark imagination.
Jennifer Falkner is an illustrator and designer based in Perth, Western Australia. With a background in art direction, textile design, and brand development, she has illustrated acclaimed picture books including Fairy Beach and The Cheeky Toddler Alphabet – both ABIA nominees for 2025 – as well as Tardigrades: Nature’s Toughest Survivor and The Lucky Shack, a CBCA Notable Book of the Year in 2023. Inspired by the antics of her two boys and the rich biodiversity of Australia’s southwest, Jennifer works in gouache, watercolour, ink, pencil, and digital media to create vibrant, imaginative illustrations that delight young readers.
